What going on with KC

Well, things are good in Orlando. For the ministry its been a financial challenges because we facing economic downturn that threatens the viability of the Impact Movement. At our Impact Conference last year we launched the I Act Giving campaign and challenge people to give to the ministry. Our total Goal is $25,000. I would like to invite you join us with this campaign. Check out www.impactmovment.com Let me know.
For us we had a tough two weeks. My wife Jerrell had a miscarriage for the 2nd time. Its been tough on us mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. What is keeping us going is Proverbs 3:5-6 "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. 6 In all your ways acknowledge him, and He will make your paths straight." If you can pray for us on that.

This summer we are leading some students to South Africa. This will be my third time Lord willing. What so cool is that this will be my first time leading a summer mission trip. I really look forward in growing closer to Lord. Their will be some challenges that I will face but I know it help me grow in the long run.

Going back to Cape Town this summer...Lord Willing!

Wow. Technology really is amazing. I can post using a widget from my desktop to update my blog. That's wussup. I love my mac. Although I think Vista now has widgets too. Anyway, there's a video in our last post. That video is of Elyse singing a tribute song to her father, Mr. Cagle. It had to do with my last post (just in case you were wondering).

Soooo...if you've been checking out the blog we are excited to say that we'll be going to Cape Town South Africa again this summer for another mission's trip with The Impact Movement. We are looking forward to this opportunity as Kenley will be co-leading the trip. This year should be good because we have close to 20 students who have applied. The deadline is this upcoming Friday 3/13/09 for applications. If you know anyone who might be interested that is currently an undergrad please send them to http://apply4summerproject.com and select the Impact: South Africa trip to submit an application. If you are post undergraduate and would like to travel to Cape Town this summer for 10 days please contact jermayne.chapman@impactmovement.com. He will be leading the team to Cape Town with the Impact Association. Once you go to Cape Town you'll DEFinitely want to go back. It's amazing over there and currently the US dollar is $1 to 10 RAND. (That's good..lol.)

Please pray for our students as they prepare to attend the upcoming briefing in Orlando, FL 3/27-3/29/09. Please allow the Lord to provide them with inexpensive flights. This mission's trip is so great!

Some of you wonder if Kenley ever checks out the blog. He does and hopefully he'll be adding some updates as well. Until then-goodnight.

love,
Jerrell

Fun in Missouri...and other things.

A few weeks ago we went to Caruthersville, MO to celebrate a surprise birthday party for one of our supporters-Mr. Cagle. We were honored to be invited and it was a great time. The town was small and the people were extremely friendly. It's really nice to have people around the country who believe in what God is doing through us with The Impact Movement. God blessed our time there and we met a lot of nice people. He even hooked Kenley and I up with $5 roundtrip tickets on Southwest. We are rapid rewards members and it turns out we both earned a free voucher. It was great timing because our funds have been low as we've seen a lot of monthly support change over the last few months. Alas, God is still doing His thang.

Soooo....I've been trying to complete this challenge at www.rpmchallenge.com. It's something I've never done before in terms of music and it's completely new and even unrealistic to complete an album in a month, but I said-hey why not? I like challenges. Anyway, I haven't told many people but I'm attempting to record a Christian hip-hop & r&P album during the month of February. Of course that's been extremely difficult working 35-40 hours a week in the office with Impact. I love doing it, but it's draining and I've come to really understand what it means to rely on Jesus. Everything we have comes from the Father. It's been a ride, but I've learned a lot in the process as well as been stretched. We'll see what happens....Lol. Kenley has been more than encouraging during this time and I thank God for him.

I should be sleeping, but I'm not. My internal clock is off since we've been on this fund development campaign at work. We work later hours because we are in the process of getting in touch with people who's lives have been significantly impacted by the Impact Movement. For the last 3 weeks I've been helping creating videos for the team (the last one we faced much opposition, and I wasn't pleased with my work). God did His thang as usual with these videos-particularly the last one. It's funny how we see things one way and God totally uses them another way. I think it's things like that that keep us humble.

Anyway, they can be viewed on YouTube and Vimeo. We used an acronym A-C-T to encourage people to ACT in order to see the Impact Movement survive. Impact definitely changed our lives and I know many others who also had their lives changed through the Impact Movement. It would be sad to see Impact no longer exist because people didn't give towards the ministry's overall needs. It seems like everything has so much need these days. It's sad though that there's people who have more money then they'll ever need in life, yet smaller organizations that are making a positive impact in the world are being neglected.

Please pray for us during this time.
